Jobs

Why ScotNursing?

If you want to pursue a career in Care or Childcare ScotTraining can offer you a Scottish Vocational Qualification in both these areas.

Grants may available to you fund these courses whether you are employed or unemployed.

What are VQ's?

A Vocational Qualification is an award based on National Standards.

It works through an assessment of what people are able to do.

In other words it is their competence at doing their current job that is being judged.

Why are they different to other Qualifications?

  • They recognise competence rather than academic ability
  • They are work based

How are they achieved?

  • By demonstrating to an assessor that they are competent to work
  • They must prove that they can perform their work to the required standards
  • They must demonstrate that they have the necessary knowledge and understanding

Portfolio Building

Participants will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence to prove to a qualified ScotTraining assessor that their competence meets with the National Standard.  The portfolio will be assessed, then verified before Certification.
